Group project with: Lisa Sumiko, Owen Bradbury Aranda, Daniel Refoua
Tasked with designing a sarcophagus for an Airstream, we looked to precedents such as Housing the Airship, Ant Farm's 'House of the Century', and Spykids to create the Flying Cloud airshed. Named for three of our four precedent Airstreams, Flying Cloud exaggerates and emphasizes the rounded geometry present in Airstreams. Dimple die trusses save space without sacrificing strength and are an homage to typical Airstream construction. I focused primarily on creating the drawings for this project, including our isometric truss drawings.
